We have an exciting opportunity for experienced Coxswains NC1 qualifications (minimum) with preferred Dive Instructors and/or Masters experience to join our growing Cruising & Dive Team at Funtastic Cruises and Keppel Dive & Water Sports located on the beautiful Great Keppel Island, Yeppoon, Queensland.
Position: Experienced Coxswain NC1 (minimum) with PADI Dive Instructors or Masters (preferred)

Yeppoon & Great Keppel Island is located just 30mins/1 hour from Rockhampton on the magical Capricorn Coast on the Southern Great Barrier Reef.
Funtastic Cruises is the Capricorn Coast's premier sailing and cruising charter experience. With two sailing catamarans and a tourist power boat, Funtastic Cruises offers full day and sunset charters for public and private hire around the Keppel Islands. As a PADI accredited Dive Resort, Keppel Dive & Water Sports provides everything from Introductory & Certified Boat Dives to PADI accredited dive courses including Open Water, Advanced Open Water and Rescue Dive Courses.
We offer diverse, small group experiences to ensure your Diving & Charter Tourism career is full of variation and your time on the island and mainland is both enjoyable and educational. Keppel Dive & Water Sports work on GBRMPA scientific contracts, so you’ll also be part of the protection and conservation of the Great Barrier Reef.
We have an exciting opportunity for qualified Coxswain(s) MED3 to join our professional team for an immediate start. This position would suit a motivated, relaxed, and professional skipper for day/sunset trips. It's a great team working in a relaxed and beautiful environment, in a company that is expanding with a proven reputation for delivering quality trips and memorable experiences.
We're also looking for a Senior / Experienced Coxswains / MED 3 – Operations Manager – Working with the Owners to assist in the management of crew - assets and decision making for the operation and business. This person must be flexible, positive with a can do and get it done attitude with opportunities to grow your current experience with on the job training.
Pay: Competitive hourly/annual packages available for the right candidate.
Skills/Qualifications required:
- Coxswain NC1 Minimum
- PADI Dive Instructor or Master (preferred)
- Dive Medical Clearance: AS/NZ 2299.1
- O2 certification
- Advance CPR: 02 HLTAID 009/015
- First Aid: HLTAID 009/010/011
- Australian Working rights
- Great customer service skills
The Duties of the Dive Instructor / Coxswain include:
- Guest & Class orientations on arrival
- Skipper of commercial vessels
- Conducting PADI dive courses (Open Water, Advanced, Rescue, and Discover Scuba dives)
- Deckhand responsibilities
- Previous marine experiences: sailing and power boat charters, scuba diving, snorkelling, kayaks.
- Island tours: Full day & Sunset charters, Snorkelling, Boat tours, Island Taxi
- Operations of the on-island dive hut
- Conduct Great Barrier Reef studies & surveys
