This role's focus area is the planning, development and delivery of specific management plans for protected areas within SEQ region. The role will identify the strategic management directions for specific protected areas and lead the implementation stage to deliver these directions.

As a Senior Project Officer, You Will

  • Participate in a multi-disciplinary team to develop and implement consumer facing communications and marketing strategies.
  • Actively promote and provide consistent representation of the QPWS&P brand and marketing strategy across both QPWS&P and tourism and


industry stakeholders.

  • Provide marketing and communication advice to QPWS&P staff on visitor management, tourism and communication and community engagement.
  • Research and analyse information, and prepare correspondence, reports, briefings and submissions regarding the development, progress and delivery of key projects and issues relating to visitor attraction.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders including QPWS&P regions, other divisions, state and local governments, recreation and tourism industry stakeholders relating to visitor attraction and provide advice as required.
  • Participate as a proactive member of the Business Development Branch.
  • Assist the Unit Manager to represent QPWS&P in industry forums, interdepartmental and other committees
  • Foster a workplace culture that supports and promotes the interests of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and actively engage through our work to contribute to better outcomes for First Nations peoples of Australia.
