In the role of Senior Advisor (Rail Planning) you will participate in the development of the State's short to medium-term rail investment strategy which will inform and shape investment and policy frameworks for transport in Queensland. You will be required to develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders and project manage initiatives to ensure that the government’s transport related priorities are achieved.

Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Assist in the project management of transport planning studies and investigations.
• Consult and negotiate with internal and external agencies on rail planning issues.
• Support and lead aspects of transport planning investigations for the development of the rail networks including data collection and analysis.
• Assist in developing advice to senior management, including presentations, reports, briefing notes and general correspondence, ensuring the provision of accurate, timely and well written materials, targeted to the audience.
• Assist in the development of transport plans and strategies that provide direction and options for rail in the short to medium-term (0-10-year term) that meets the needs of Queensland.
Requirements of the role:
• Rail and/or Transport Planning Expertise: Knowledge/background in planning and delivering rail/transport studies, including project management, that support the government's objectives for the transport network.
• Stakeholder Relationship Management: Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with subject matter experts and various internal and external stakeholders.
• Strategic Planning and Execution: Track record of planning, executing, and evaluating projects and strategies in alignment with organisational priorities and objectives.
• Communication skills: Highly level interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
