Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Leading development of systems and processes to ensure that major rail projects deliver outcomes and benefits in accordance with agreed rail network strategies
• Oversee rail project design processes (review and development) to ensure network outcomes are achieved
• Guiding the development of well-defined sponsor requirements for major rail projects
• Actively monitoring and assuring delivery of sponsor requirements, including identifying potential solutions to mitigate risks to sponsor requirement delivery
• Building relationships with key stakeholders involved in the delivery of major rail projects, including proactively advocating for TMR's interests in relevant governance forums
• Providing expert advice and support to senior executives in executing their roles in major rail project governance, assurance, and oversight
• Preparing complex correspondence, reports, briefing notes, and cabinet submissions on behalf of the Minister, Director-General, Deputy Director-General, General Manager and Executive Director
• Engaging with rail project delivery teams to promote the role of the project sponsor and encourage project team engagement in managing sponsor requirements.
Requirements of the role
• Leadership and Management: Demonstrated experience in leading teams, mentoring staff, influencing stakeholders and effectively managing financial and human resources.
• Major rail/capital project expertise: Knowledge/background in rail/capital project development and delivery, particularly in requirements definition, management, and assurance.
• Stakeholder Relationship Management: Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with content providers and various internal and external stakeholders.
• Execution: Track record of delivering on government priorities on time and on budget.
• Acumen and Emotional Intelligence: Highly developed business and political acumen and emotional intelligence.
