About the role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Biomedical Engineering Technician to provide high-quality technology support to SA Pathology and its customer base. In this role, you will be responsible for the calibration, maintenance, and repair of biomedical equipment, ensuring all devices meet the highest standards. You will play a key role in developing, planning, and implementing maintenance inspections in line with manufacturer recommendations, Australian Standards, and internal policies. Your expertise will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, helping to optimise equipment performance and reliability.
As a hands-on technician, you will exercise a high level of technical responsibility within a multi-discipline team. You will also provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff, fostering their development and enhancing team capability. About You
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Biomedical Engineering Technician with a strong technical background and a commitment to delivering high-quality support in a multi-disciplinary environment. To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills – Proven ability to engage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, evaluate complex situations, and work under pressure.
- Technical expertise in biomedical equipment – Experience in remedial and preventative maintenance, as well as providing technical analysis and support for complex medical devices and systems.
- Comprehensive knowledge of biomedical technology – Understanding of the clinical applications, technical aspects, and impact of biomedical devices on patient care and diagnostic outcomes.
- Commitment to compliance and safety – Familiarity with regulatory requirements and best practices for biomedical equipment, ensuring adherence to safety and operational standards.
