Flinders Medical Centre is looking for their next Clinical Nurse to join their Southern Adelaide Palliative Care Services Department in an ongoing role
This role will be over a 7 day roster and involved in providing palliative care nursing services across a variety of health service settings which has been consolidated by experience and/or further study with staff at this level developing from competent to proficient practitioners.
About the role:
As the Clinical Nurse you will be required to work within a multidisciplinary health care team and provide support to less experienced members of the nursing team.
Duties for the role will include:
- Provide proficient, person centred, clinical nursing/midwifery care and/or individual case management to patients/clients in a defined clinical area
- Provide monitoring and support for inpatients, patients in the community or attending outpatient clinics
- Assist and support the Nurse Consultants or equivalent in management, clinical, and education activities
- Oversee the provision of nursing/midwifery care within a team/unit
- Monitoring patient/client care plans to ensure appropriate care outcomes are achieved on a daily basis
About you:
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrated competence in palliative care nursing practice in accordance with the relevant standards
- Experience in the leadership and direction of student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses
- Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate
- Proven experience in delivering high quality and safe care consistent with the National Safety and Quality Health Care Service Standards
To be considered for the RN2C (Clinical Nurse) level you must have at least three years, full time equivalent, post registration experience with experience in the leadership and direction of student nurses, enrolled nurses, and less experienced registered nurses.
