About the Role
The Pricing & Commercial Manager plays a critical role in shaping market competitiveness through data-driven pricing strategies and commercial insights. This position requires a deep understanding of energy market dynamics, cost structures, and customer behaviour, with a focus on maximising revenue and profitability in a highly competitive landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and refine retail pricing strategies across electricity, gas, and broadband to drive customer growth and retention
- Conduct detailed commercial analysis to optimise product offerings, revenue streams, and cost structures
- Monitor market trends, competitor pricing, and customer behaviours to ensure pricing strategies remain competitive
- Lead financial modelling and forecasting to assess the impact of pricing decisions on business performance
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop competitive customer propositions
- Provide strategic recommendations to senior leadership based on data-driven insights and scenario modelling
- Work closely with operations, billing, and finance teams to ensure seamless implementation of pricing strategies
- Oversee pricing governance and ensure consistency in pricing methodology across different customer segments
- Identify opportunities for process improvement in pricing operations and commercial strategy execution
- Lead stakeholder engagement across sales, operations, billing, and finance to align commercial initiatives
- Proven experience in pricing, commercial analysis, or financial modelling within the energy, telecommunications, or retail sectors
- Strong understanding of energy markets, customer behaviour, and cost structures
- Expertise in financial modelling, scenario analysis, and data interpretation to inform strategic decision-making
- Experience in leading pricing strategy development and execution in competitive retail markets
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to assess risks, opportunities, and business impacts
- High-level stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior leadership
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and data analytics tools; SQL or Power BI experience is advantageous
- Tertiary qualification in finance, economics, business, or a related discipline
