Job Description
An exciting opportunity for an Analyst working in the Merchandising team has become available within the National Buying department of ALDI Stores, based in Minchinbury. This is a permanent full-time role.
As an Analyst within the Merchandising department, you will play a crucial role in supporting the team by strategically analysing, developing, and presenting user-friendly reports that provide clear and actionable outcomes. A key component of your role will involve conducting comprehensive space analysis and making informed recommendations to optimise merchandising strategies.
Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate space databases to ensure that data is readily available and reliable in order to aid in critical decision-making. This combination of report development and space analysis will be essential in enhancing our merchandising strategies and contributing to ALDI’s overall success. What does the role look like?
- Develop reports and audits by integrating multiple data sources and performing validation testing to ensure data accuracy for reliable analysis
- As the subject matter expert, oversee the development and maintenance of well-structured AutoCAD objects to facilitate an accurate database
- Maintain existing applications to support business needs and enhance functionality
- Serve as the key contact for internal and external stakeholders on merchandising related data and technical projects
- Initiate process improvement to enhance the merchandising team’s efficiency
- Support the merchandising Executive Managers on initiatives and projects requiring up to date space related data or analysis.
Qualifications
- Experience within analytics, preferably within the retail industry
- Demonstrate the ability to understand and interpret complex datasets, whilst maintaining data accuracy through a high level of attention to detail
- Proven expertise in consulting on complex technical projects, with a strong ability to effectively communicate insights and recommendations to leadership teams
- Proficient in relational databases, with expertise in Python and SQL, to enhance process automation and ensure data integrity
- Proficiency in the use of the MS Office suite, particularly MS Excel (VBA, PowerQuery) is essential
- Demonstrated space planning experience, with exposure to space planning software (such as Spaceman and AutoCAD), is highly regarded.

Remuneration
- Transparent tiered salary range of $139,200 - $158,800 including Superannuation
