The role
In this role, you will be the welcoming face of the Botanic Gardens, ensuring every visitor enjoys a positive and enriching retail experience.
Your responsibilities will encompass assisting customers with product inquiries, processing transactions, and managing merchandise deliveries and replenishments.
Collaborating closely with the Retail/Events Team, you will strive to meet sales targets while showcasing the unique offerings of the Gardens.
Beyond retail duties, you will handle event bookings, provide comprehensive visitor information, and support the Events Venues team with various tasks during events.
Thriving in a dynamic environment, you will balance retail responsibilities with exceptional customer service. With a commitment to delivering high-quality service, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring smooth shop operations and creating memorable experiences for every visitor.

What you will bring to the role
- Solid experience in a retail environment, with skills in cash handling, using digital booking systems, and managing customer enquiries in a reception or frontline service area.
- A high level of personal presentation, ensuring a professional and welcoming atmosphere for visitors.
- Outstanding customer service abilities, demonstrating empathy, care, and a genuine desire to enhance the visitor experience.
- Strong problem-solving skills to efficiently and professionally resolve customer complaints or issues.
- Excellent communication skills, able to convey product information, promote Garden activities, and assist with enquiries.
- Effective time management to balance multiple tasks and maintain smooth daily operations.
What is an essential requirement:
- Ability to work outside of normal working hours and on weekends if required.
- Current driver’s licence
