With a world-class product empowering organisations in Cyber, Risk, and Governance, our client is seeking a Commercial Operations Manager with a strong legal and governance background to help scale the business efficiently and sustainably.This role is ideal for a commercial lawyer with significant SaaS experience who is looking to transition into a broader operational leadership role, with a clear pathway to a future COO position.
As a key member of the leadership team, you’ll be responsible for contract governance, risk management, and operational strategy, ensuring that business processes are legally sound, scalable, and aligned with growth objectives. You’ll oversee critical initiatives in contract negotiation, compliance, and financial discipline, while also enhancing automation across business functions.
Key Responsibilities Legal & Commercial Leadership:
Lead contract governance, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.Manage commercial negotiations, balancing risk with business opportunity.Oversee deal desk operations, providing legal insights on sales agreements and partnerships.Streamline contract execution and reporting, working closely with growth and finance teams.
Operational Strategy & Risk Management:
Design and implement risk management frameworks, ensuring robust governance structures.Drive operational efficiencies, automating processes from marketing to client onboarding.Lead compliance initiatives, ensuring alignment with cybersecurity, data privacy, and commercial regulations.Maintain financial discipline, overseeing cost-efficiency, budgeting, and commercial controls.
Board & Executive Collaboration:
Prepare and present operational and risk reports to the board and executive team.Provide data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making and sustainable growth.
Team Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement:
Build and lead a high-performing operational team, fostering a culture of compliance and excellence.Work closely with finance, legal, and commercial teams to align business functions.Engage with external legal advisors, partners, and clients to support strong relationships and strategic growth.
What You Bring
Qualified commercial lawyer with experience in contract negotiation, governance, and regulatory compliance.Proven experience in SaaS, technology, or professional services environments.Strong commercial acumen, with a track record of balancing legal risk with business growth.Ability to streamline contract processes, enhance automation, and drive efficiency.Exceptional communication, analytical, and leadership skills.
