The Role
ABC Riverina is looking for a Reporter to research, produce and present multi-platform news content.
The ABC is all about Australian communities and their conversations. Our regional teams create unique and distinctive content that connects communities and shapes lives in regional, rural and remote Australia. We create high value, distinctive, content across audio, video and digital platforms, to meet the ABC’s goal of a digital first approach, which maintaining our traditional broadcast processes.
The Job
Create content for multiple platforms under the Editor's direction.
Produce and present news bulletins, interviews, and packages across all platforms, including breaking stories.
Write engaging, high value and original digital articles for ABC News Online.
Contribute to content planning and emergency coverage.
Develop content aligning with ABC strategy, including the ABC’s Five Year Plan and reflecting Australia's diversity.
Engage with communities to find and tell relevant stories.
About You
You will be an experienced journalist with strong editorial skills and experience with breaking news and generating original, high value, stories in a daily news environment.
You will also have:
Relevant tertiary qualifications in journalism or equivalent skills and experience.
Demonstrated creative approach to content and accomplished live presentation skills.
Comprehensive understanding of local audience issues and Australia's cultural diversity.
Ability to source and maintain community contacts, with a passion for telling diverse Australian stories.
Possession of a current and valid Driver’s Licence.
Willingness and flexibility to travel to remote locations.
