The Role
The ABC is looking for a Content Director to drive editorial planning and content gathering for ABC Sydney across multiple platforms. You will also create content that aligns with ABC strategy. The role is located at the ABC’s brand-new broadcast studios and newsroom in Parramatta Square.
This is an outstanding opportunity to provide editorial leadership to help shape distinctive and compelling content and bring your exceptional understanding of the issues that affect the local audience including across national and statewide programs.
The Job
- Provide editorial leadership to create compelling content across all platforms.
- Lead and develop the team to achieve shared objectives and foster a collaborative culture.
- Drive digital content initiatives to grow audiences across platforms.
- Identify local content for sharing across the ABC on multiple platforms.
- Manage local emergency coverage and communicate with stakeholders.
- Collaborate with teams on community activities and national projects.
- Implement initiatives to improve staffing flexibility and resource efficiency.

About You
You'll have:
- Tertiary qualifications or equivalent skills and experience in a relevant field.
- Outstanding editorial skills with reliable judgement.
- Proven experience in leading high-performance teams and mentoring.
- Strong understanding of local and national audience interests.
- Experience in creating cross-platform content initiatives.
- Passion for creating diverse and authentic content reflecting the Australian community.
- A current and valid driver's licence
