About Us
The JBS Beef City Feedlot is part of the integrated Beef City facility consisting of farming, feedlot and processing operations. The cattle are walked from the feedlot to the plant, minimising stress and transportation costs, while simultaneously improving eating quality.
Ideally located in the prime grain and cattle producing region of the Darling Downs, 35km west of Toowoomba, the 26,500 head capacity feedlot has a strong reputation for producing high quality grain fed beef for key domestic and international customers, and employs approximately 50 team members.
JBS also has its livestock transport operations based at Beef City Feedlot to facilitate cattle movements between all the feedlot and processing sites.
About the Role
The JBS Beef City Feedlot is currently recruiting a passionate Feed Hand to join the team in a permanent full-time capacity. Reporting to the Mill Foreperson, your key responsibilities will include:
- Undertaking pre-start inspections of all machinery prior to operation
- Reporting mechanical faults to the supervisor
- Operating loaders to clean pens, load trucks and associated tasks of a feedlot environment
- Operating feed trucks to roll out feeding schedules
- General labouring duties
- Promoting and maintaining a safe work environment to prevent injuries and lost time
- Additional tasks as directed by the Mill Foreperson/Supervisor and/or Feedlot Manager
About You
- Experience in operating trucks, front end loaders, bobcats and associated equipment
- Hold a HR Licence and machinery tickets advantageous but not essential
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and part of a team
- Good work ethic
- Ability to follow instructions
