The Role
The APS 5 Senior Regional Support Officer Northern Territory/Kimberley reports to a Regional Engagement Manager.
The Northern Territory/Kimberley team work within a nationally dispersed team, under the direction of the Assistant Director Regional Engagement to meet future Defence capability needs.
The Senior Regional Support Officer is accountable under limited direction to perform duties such as:
- Assist in planning and conducting stakeholder engagement and immersive activities of a broad scale, to meet Defence objectives under the direction of the Assistant Director Regional Engagement and Regional Engagement Manager.
- Assist in planning and conducting formal events such as, awards and or commemorative activities which will attract Senior Defence Leaders, government representatives and key strategic partners.
- Assist in developing and executing Relationship Management Plans to support targeted liaison and engagement with important stakeholders to enhance access to in-demand capabilities.
- Meet the requirements of the Directorate for the submission of reports and returns including governance, administration, finance and measurement of outcomes of engagement activities and events.
- Complete complex procedural, operational, administrative and business support work, including managing travel requirements and financial acquittals.
- Work collaboratively in a team based environment, operating as an effective team member, building and sustaining relationships with team members and stakeholders, and actively participating in team work and group activities.
- Additional tasking as directed by the Regional Engagement Manager, and the Assistant Director Regional Engagement.

Our Ideal Candidate
The successful candidates will have demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement, experience in event planning and skills across broad APS functions. Previous experience engaging with Defence personnel would be highly regarded. The successful candidate will have the ability to translate strategy into operational outcomes through the application of exceptional leadership, problem solving and engagement skills.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Assistant Director and Director of ADFRES to support the Head and Deputy Head of Reserve and Cadet Support Division in delivering organisational and business outcomes in line with ADFRES's mission. This is a challenging, but rewarding role.
