About The Role: As a Solicitor in the Federal Workers’ Compensation team , you will:
  • Provide legal advice and manage workers’ compensation claims
  • Represent clients in the Administrative Appeals Tribunal
  • Conduct investigations, interview witnesses, and review documents
  • Assist in drafting tribunal documents (Statements of Facts, Issues, Contentions, Submissions, etc.)
  • Brief experts and attend conciliation and informal settlement conferences
  • Prepare reports for clients and claims managers
  • Delegate and supervise administrative assistants as needed
  • Stay up to date with industry developments and contribute to client newsletters

The Ideal Candidate:
  • Qualifications: Bachelor of Law (or equivalent) and a current Practicing Certificate
  • Experience: Previous experience in either state or federal workers’ compensation (plaintiff or defendant side)
  • Skills:
    • Strong legal analysis and case management skills
    • Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively in a team
    • Effective time management and ability to balance competing priorities
    • Resilience, problem-solving mindset, and commercial awareness
    • Ability to work autonomously and under pressure
    • Leadership qualities and ability to mentor junior staff
