About The Role: As a Solicitor in the Federal Workers’ Compensation team , you will:
- Provide legal advice and manage workers’ compensation claims
- Represent clients in the Administrative Appeals Tribunal
- Conduct investigations, interview witnesses, and review documents
- Assist in drafting tribunal documents (Statements of Facts, Issues, Contentions, Submissions, etc.)
- Brief experts and attend conciliation and informal settlement conferences
- Prepare reports for clients and claims managers
- Delegate and supervise administrative assistants as needed
- Stay up to date with industry developments and contribute to client newsletters
The Ideal Candidate:
- Qualifications: Bachelor of Law (or equivalent) and a current Practicing Certificate
- Experience: Previous experience in either state or federal workers’ compensation (plaintiff or defendant side)
- Skills:
- Strong legal analysis and case management skills
- Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively in a team
- Effective time management and ability to balance competing priorities
- Resilience, problem-solving mindset, and commercial awareness
- Ability to work autonomously and under pressure
- Leadership qualities and ability to mentor junior staff
