About Us:
Located at Castlemaine, Loddon Prison is a 477 bed Medium Security Prison for sentenced male prisoners. Adjacent to Loddon Prison is Middleton, a 236 bed Restricted Minimum-Security Prison for sentenced male prisoners. The focus of both prisons is rehabilitation via individual case management, employment, education, training and also the provision of programs and targeted interventions to address offending behaviour and promote the development of prosocial behaviour. Both prisons provide contemporary and quality correctional services that prepare prisoners for transition and reintegration.
About the Role:
The position of Specialist Case Manager will work as part of the Offender Services Team at each prison. The Specialist Case Manager role is to ensure prisoners with long term planning, complex, high risk and/or intensive needs have the required transitional support. The role aims to streamline a prisoner's pathway to successful release through the coordination of appropriate services and activities.
Some of your other duties will include:
- Collaborating closely with Custodial and Offender Services staff and other stakeholders to assist in the identification of service gaps and prisoner needs.
- Coordinating prisoner's applications for parole and contribute to the Case Management Review process.
- Source support service systems for offenders and assist in negotiating access to, or set-up of, those services.

About You:
As our ideal candidate, you will possess:
- Demonstrated understanding of transition and reintegration issues and needs of prisoners.
- Demonstrated ability to administer risk assessment tools with individual prisoners.
- Demonstrated capacity or aptitude to work with clients who are difficult to engage individually and in group work settings.
