Our client is passionate about delivering the best coffee and exceptional dining experiences to the community. Roastville Coffee café is known for its warm atmosphere, great food, and specialty coffee offerings. We are currently seeking a talented and passionate Chef for a full-time position to join their growing team.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of the kitchen’s operations; includes instruct cooks and other workers in the preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food;
- Analyse recipes to assign prices to menu items, based on food, labour, and overhead costs;
- Develop recipes and determine how to present the food to the customers and create decorative food displays;
- Determine production schedules and staff requirement;
- Give practical exhibition of different techniques of cooking various dishes.
- Estimate amounts and costs of required supplies, such as food and ingredients;
- Inspect supplies, equipment and work areas for cleanliness and functionality;
- Keep up with the industry trends and create new recipes in collaboration with the Cook;
- Approve and polish dishes before they reach to the customer;
- Plan orders of equipment or ingredients according to identified shortages;
- Interviewing, hiring and training new staff;
- Ensuring correct stock rotation procedures are followed;
- Implementation of health and safety procedures in the kitchen;
- Taking care of kitchen’s accounts and creating a work roster;
- To ensure that kitchen maintenance problems are promptly reported;
- Monitor sanitation practices and follow kitchen safety standard.
Minimum Requirement:
- Diploma in Hospitality or related area.
- Minimum 2 years relevant experience
- Ability to cope with stress and fatigue
- Excellent time management abilities
- Up-to-date knowledge of cooking techniques and recipes
- Familiarity with sanitation regulations
Salary Offered : $73,150 + Superannuation
