About the Role:

Are you a compassionate and experienced Community Worker/Caseworker ready to make a real difference? CatholicCare is seeking a dedicated professional to support individuals and families experiencing homelessness. This role is based at our welcoming drop-in centre, Dom’s Place, in Hornsby, with some days at our Waitara location.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide trauma-informed case management support.
  • Conduct needs-based assessments and develop personalised case plans.
  • Make appropriate referrals to address risk factors like mental health and substance abuse.
  • Collaborate with internal and external services to ensure the best outcomes for clients.
  • Assist clients in developing basic living skills to prevent homelessness.
  • Advocate for clients with government and welfare agencies.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions.
  • Work across multiple sites and provide outreach support as needed.
  • Facilitate community development initiatives to address complex issues.

What We’re Looking For:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, or related fields, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of case management experience, especially with complex trauma, mental health, and substance abuse.
  • Strong networking and advocacy skills.
  • Ability to manage crises and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Working with Children Check and Criminal History Check.
  • NSW Driver's Licence and own insured vehicle.
