About the Role
This role is integral to the commercial strategy team, responsible for pricing and financial modelling across retail and wholesale markets. It involves analysing market trends, developing sophisticated pricing models, and working closely with internal stakeholders to drive profitability and competitive positioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and refine pricing models to optimise revenue and cost structures across energy portfolios
- Conduct financial modelling and scenario analysis to support strategic decision-making
- Provide data-driven insights to sales, operations, billing, and finance teams
- Assess market trends and regulatory changes to ensure competitive pricing strategies
- Support contract negotiations by providing financial analysis and pricing recommendations
- Evaluate the impact of wholesale market dynamics on retail pricing strategies
- Enhance forecasting models for customer demand and revenue projections
- Work closely with IT and data teams to improve automation and reporting tools
- Drive process improvements to increase efficiency in pricing and financial analysis
- Collaborate with risk and trading teams to align pricing with broader market strategies
- Present findings and recommendations to senior management and key stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with internal pricing policies and external regulatory requirements
- Strong background in pricing, financial modelling, and commercial analysis within the energy sector
- Experience in retail and wholesale energy markets, including tariff structures and hedging strategies
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, SQL, and data analytics tools for financial modelling
- Ability to interpret market trends and translate them into actionable pricing strategies
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with experience working across sales, finance, and operations
- Knowledge of energy trading, risk management, and portfolio optimisation is advantageous
- Degree in finance, economics, mathematics, engineering, or a related discipline
