About the Role
This is a high-impact role responsible for leading the development of regulatory and economic models to guide business strategy. The position will work closely with policy, finance, and commercial teams to assess market structures, regulatory changes, and the financial implications of new policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance quantitative models to support regulatory submissions and market strategy.
- Provide technical analysis on market design, pricing mechanisms, and regulatory frameworks.
- Collaborate with industry bodies, government agencies, and internal teams to shape regulatory outcomes.
- Analyse the financial and operational impacts of policy changes and emerging market trends.
- Present insights and modelling outcomes to executive leadership and external stakeholders.
- Lead scenario analysis and stress testing for evolving energy policies and regulatory frameworks.
- Support the development of long-term forecasting models for wholesale and retail energy markets.
- Provide guidance on economic modelling best practices to internal teams.
- Proven experience in regulatory modelling, energy economics, or market analysis within the energy sector.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with expertise in economic modelling and scenario analysis.
- In-depth knowledge of energy market regulations, pricing structures, and policy frameworks.
- Experience engaging with regulatory bodies and industry stakeholders.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and modelling software (e.g., Python, R, MATLAB, Excel).
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex analysis into actionable insights.
- Relevant qualifications in economics, finance, engineering, or a related field.
