The Opportunity
As the Director, School for Visitor Economy , you will
- Provide visionary leadership in education, research, and industry engagement within tourism, hospitality, and events.
- Drive the school’s strategic growth, ensuring alignment with industry trends and workforce needs.
- Lead and develop a high-performing team of educators and researchers.
- Expand industry partnerships, securing collaborations that enhance student employability and program excellence.
- Champion innovative, work-integrated, and technology-enhanced learning approaches.
- Contribute to Victoria University’s reputation as a leader in applied and industry focused education.
About You
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A strong background in leadership within the visitor economy sector, higher education, and vocational education.
- Experience developing and delivering high-impact programs that align with industry needs.
- A track record of building successful industry partnerships and securing external funding.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, drive innovation, and manage change effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with diverse audiences in a highly collegiate and efficient manner.
- A postgraduate qualification in a relevant field (PhD or equivalent preferred)
Conditions & Benefits
This full-time position will be offered on a 4-year fixed term contract basis. An attractive remuneration package is on offer, including an employer superannuation contribution of up to 17%.
