About the Role:

We are seeking an Architect Analyst for an Internship (Casual basis) placement based in THQ Blackburn, VIC.

Purpose of the Role:

The purpose of this job is to provide administration services to The Salvation Army’s (TSA) Architecture Office. In their day to day work, the Architecture Analyst will support colleagues in Architecture Team, and other senior team members by performing various tasks related to requirements gathering, analysis, architectural information maintenance, reports development, assisting in running forums and general documentation. This role is ideal for a fresh graduate or a student in their final year of study who is looking to start their career in IT in general, and wanting to gain exposure and understanding of how architecture function and architects play a vital role in achieving organisational objectives in particular.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Help maintain the architecture repository, keep technical documentation and diagrams up to date using modern architecture practice tools.

  • Participate in architecture review meetings, reference groups, and workshops.

  • Facilitate workshops/forums; assist in maintaining the decision log and records

  • Provide support to fellow colleagues in developing and implementing IT strategies and roadmaps.

  • Assist in gathering and analysing requirements from business/IT stakeholders.

  • Conduct options/market analysis and document the findings.

  • Support the development and implementation of solution architectures and designs.

  • Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, developers, testers, and clients to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards and principles.

Qualifications Required:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, System Analysis, AI, Cybersecurity, Business Analysis or a related field.

  • Experience: Internship or project experience in IT or a related field is desirable but not required.

  • Basic workshop facilitation skills, fluent communication and presentation skills and stakeholder management skills are expected in this role.

  • Desired technical skills / hands-on experience and knowledge of:

  • General Enterprise/IT Architecture principles and practices.

  • Familiarity with software engineering, application development, and integration techniques.

  • Knowledge of programming languages and frameworks such as .NET, Python, Java, etc.

  • Understanding of integration technologies and patterns, such as RESTful APIs and SOAP.

  • Ability to use design and documentation tools and techniques, such as UML and BPMN.
