About the Centre
Fawkner Leisure Centre is focused around the local community, specifically fostering strong community ties and a sense of belonging. We're dedicated to reaching out to diverse demographics and community groups, providing a safe, inclusive and accessible environment. At the Centre you can learn to swim, enjoy a barista made coffee from our cafe, exercise with lap swimming in our indoor pool, relax in our spa and sauna, or cool off in summer in our outdoor heated pools.
About the role
As a Duty Manager at Fawkner Leisure Centre you will have delegated authority of the Centre Manager, and will maintain a broad knowledge of centre programs and services whilst at the same time managing a range of centre functions whilst on shift which may include;
- Maintaining a focus on ‘Big Picture’ issues Centre wide
- Maintain a working knowledge and understanding of Centre’s Emergency Action Plan
- Working autonomously as well as being an active leader
This is a permanent part time position, with an hourly rate of $31.67 plus superannuation.
As a Duty Manager you will act as positive role model in an effort to build strong people, strong families and strong communities, as well as identifying potential risk factors and taking steps to reduce those risks. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, a positive attitude and a commitment to the safety and wellbeing of children, young people and all facility users.
Essential Qualifications
- Aquatic Pool Lifeguard Certificate
- HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
- HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
Other Desired Qualifications or Knowledge
- Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Legislation is an advantage
- Previous experience in a similar facility in a supervisory role is desirable
