Who are we?

Wintringham is a specialist not-for-profit organisation providing an extensive range of aged care, housing and related support services to men and women aged 50-plus who have been homeless or at risk of homelessness. We employ over 1000 staff and operate from multiple offices across Melbourne, Regional Victoria, and Tasmania. Our Head Office provides the strategic direction and support services for Wintringham residential, housing and community care services.

Your new role

An exciting opportunity exists for a committed and proactive individual to join our expanding Finance Team at our Head Office as a Full Time Accounts Payable Team Leader. Reporting to the Finance Operations Manager, the Accounts Payable Team leader will primarily be responsible for managing daily/monthly accounts payable functions, cash reconciliations and the invoice approval system. This position is an excellent opportunity to further develop your understanding of accounting processes and procedures.

Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to) the below:

  • Appropriately manage performance of the Accounts Payable team through coaching, supervision, debriefing, regular informal and formal performance feedback and reviews, and professional development support.
  • Manage day-to-day and monthly accounts payable function, petty cash reconciliations.
  • Manage invoice approval system under set framework and supplier accounts.
  • Ensure the equitable distribution of work amongst the Accounts Payable team.
  • Prepare and process invoices and pay within credit terms.
  • Reconciliation of supplier statements.
  • Resolving queries with creditors and liaising with Program Managers as required.

We are looking for candidates with the following:

You are an experienced accounts payable team leader with a flexible and collaborative approach to working with your team. Your skills will be supported by possessing the following:

  • Strong investigative and problem-solving skills in order to quickly resolve issues and recommend process improvements to ensure the smooth functioning of accounts payable.
  • Ability to work autonomously and prioritise tasks.
  • A high degree of proficiency utilising Microsoft Office applications
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role
