Description:
We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as Finance Manager. This senior position within the College’s Finance and Administration structure plays a vital role in ensuring the financial viability of the College and the effective provision of resources to support our educational programs.
Position Objectives:
The Finance Manager will collaborate closely with the Director of Finance and Infrastructure to oversee financial operations and management, with a focus on payroll and financial management responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Finance:
- Supervise day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable and receivable functions.
- Manage payroll processes, including leave management and superannuation obligations.
- Maintain aged debtors and lead debt collection processes.
- Ensure compliance with finance systems, policies, and legislative requirements.
- Prepare and submit statutory reports, financial statements, and budget analysis.
- Support the Director of Finance and Infrastructure in financial reporting to senior leadership and governing bodies.
Operations:
- HR Management including interviews, staff reviews and allocation of tasks for finance staff.
- Risk Management and Compliance, including Workers Compensation claims and Emergency Management
- Property Maintenance and Infrastructure
- Support enrolment processes and provide administrative assistance to teaching staff.
- Represent the school at events as needed.
Key Relationships:
- Internal: Reports to the Director of Finance and Infrastructure, oversees accounts and finance staff.
- External: Engages with MACS, auditors, suppliers, students, and families.
Key Selection Criteria and Qualifications:
Essential:
- Qualifications and experience in accounting/business management.
- CPA/CA membership.
- Proficiency in accounting standards, budgeting, and taxation issues.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft 365, particularly Excel and databases.
- Strong initiative, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to professional development and compliance checks.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of education sector operations.
- Knowledge of the CEMEA2022
- Experience in Synergetic system.
