This will be a fixed term contract until end of July 25 with a possibility of extending.

The Role

We are looking for someone with insurance/underwriting knowledge to join us on a fixed term contract to help our underwriting team during our busy renewal period.

Key Deliverables and Responsibilities:

  • Assess and process new business applications in accordance with the delegated authority of the role as outlined in the Underwriting manual and within the established service standards
  • Liaise with the Underwriting Committee as required
  • Recommend and assist with implementation of improvements to the new business process
  • Document amendments to any new business procedures
  • Issue pricing indications, offers and undertake follow ups
  • Analyze and prepare monthly new business reports for management
  • Administration of the New Membership inbox.
  • Assist with other Underwriting functions
  • Assist with renewal activities

Skills and Experience

  • Proactive mindset, positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Strong and effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proven customer service skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Adaptable and flexible in approach.
  • Competent with systems
  • Highly organised and able to prioritise workloads

Formal Qualifications

  • Underwriting experience with knowledge of Professional Indemnity/Medical Indemnity
  • RG146/Tier 2 required
  • Thorough understanding of insurance principles, industry practices and Medical Indemnity legislation
  • Certificate IV insurance qualification desirable
