The Opportunity
The RFDS (Queensland Section) seeks a distinguished healthcare executive to lead the development and execution of clinical service delivery strategy across aeromedical, primary healthcare, mental health, dental health, and virtual health services.
This role will collaborate with their Executive Leadership Team to shape the future of rural and remote healthcare delivery in Queensland whilst managing a substantial operational budget and team of healthcare professionals.
Your Impact
As Chief Operating Officer – Clinical Service Delivery, you will drive operational excellence by translating strategic vision into exceptional healthcare services. You will develop and implement innovative operating models, systems, and processes that optimize resource utilisation while maintaining clinical excellence. Leading a diverse team, you will shape workforce models to address growth and industry challenges.
You will cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders, including Queensland Health and rural, remote, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Managing a substantial clinical services budget, you will ensure operational efficiency, contract compliance, and best-practice service delivery. Your leadership will drive transformational change, enhancing effectiveness across all clinical operations.
About You
You are a distinguished healthcare executive from a clinical healthcare or NFP service provider. You will bring:
- Significant experience in senior operational management, leading multidisciplinary health teams with a track record of driving strong operational performance;
- Tertiary or advanced qualifications in business, management or health;
- Demonstrated experience in inspiring and motivating teams while driving high standards of performance;
- Strong commercial acumen with experience in managing complex operations and negotiating major contracts;
- Sophisticated understanding of healthcare operations, clinical governance and contract management;
- Superior analytical abilities that facilitate the translation of high-level strategy into daily operations; and
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement capabilities with the gravitas to represent the organisation at all levels.
