They are seeking a strategic Treasury professional with a strong understanding of the FX market. While not an FX trading firm, they seek someone with a trading mindset capable of analysing market trends, providing strategic recommendations, and optimising foreign currency positions.
The Role
This role is ideal for someone who can identify opportunities, implement strategies, and continuously monitor FX movements to drive financial stability and growth. Key responsibilities include;
Cash Flow & Treasury Management:
- Develop, maintain, and enhance weekly, monthly, and annual cash flow models, identifying funding requirements
- Oversee and manage interest rate swaps and FX hedging, providing reports and strategic recommendations
- Accurately record treasury transactions (FX deals, loan drawdowns) for approval and settlement
- Update and maintain exchange rates ensuring accuracy and consistency
- Perform daily bank account reconciliations across multiple accounts
- Manage Foreign Exchange Contracts (FECs), ensuring execution, approval and compliance with banking regulations
- Oversee debt facilities, ensuring compliance with banking covenants and internal policies
- Act as the primary liaison for banking relationships, handling queries and coordinating financial documentation for general ledger entries
- Regularly monitor the Group’s operating cash positions, ensuring financial stability
Reporting, Compliance & Strategic Support:
- Assist in the preparation and execution of the Group’s capital management plan
- Support month-end closing processes, including treasury reconciliations, FX analysis, and financial reporting
- Prepare and submit external bank reports, ensuring regulatory compliance
- Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring timely compliance with findings or regulatory requirements.
- Implement and maintain internal controls and risk management strategies related to treasury operations
- Support the annual budgeting and forecasting process, including debt, leverage, and cash flow projections
The Candidate
- Experience in cash flow forecasting, financial reporting, FX transactions, and hedging
- Strong background in FX risk, interest rate derivatives, and multi-currency transactions
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (Pronto, MYOB, SAP, Oracle) and banking platforms (ANZ, Westpac, BTMU)
- Advanced Excel & Modeling & Reporting – Proficient in VLOOKUPs, PivotTables, Macros, and financial analysis
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
- Excellent communicator, being able to liaise internally and externally
- Experience supporting treasury system upgrades and implementations
- CPA or CA qualification highly preferred
- You’ll need to have worked in fast-paced, high-transaction industries
