About the role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team, focusing on enhancing engineering capabilities through collaboration with Delivery leaders and the Engineering team. In this role, you will develop, Java APIs, microservices, React web applications, to support strategic initiatives on the latest tech stack and cloud. As an integral part of the Agile development lifecycle, you will engage in DevOps practices, including Continuous Integration and deployment. Additionally, you will lead system analysis, design, development, and ongoing support, ensuring high-quality outcomes.

What you’ll bring

• Expertise in Java (17), Spring (Boot/Security/Hibernate) for building APIs and microservices.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience including 2+ years mentoring engineers
• Strong experience with Agile development methodologies and source code, CI/CD tools
• Proven ability to design, develop, efficient and testable code.
• Familiarity with React/ Typescript /Javascript, Tomcat, Oracle, and SQL databases
• Familiarity or motivation to learn cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP or Azure

What you’ll do

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of guidelines for Continuous Delivery, automation, and security
• Coach and mentor engineers to improve their capabilities and ensure best practices are followed (coding standards, code reviews, automated testing)
• Ability to collaborate with cross functional teams and non-technical stakeholders
• Evangelise secure software development principles through practices like code reviews and threat modelling
