The Role

In your role as Systems Administrator , you will be responsible for the administration, support, maintenance and continuous improvement of our on-premises and cloud information technology infrastructure and endpoints across our growing global footprint. You will be instrumental in ensuring optimal uptime of all servers, networks, and workstations by performing daily proactive event monitoring and regular systems maintenance according to our downtime schedule. As an experienced IT professional, you will also use your knowledge of Microsoft and Linux operating systems to support our software team in commissioning, maintaining and decommissioning hypervisors, virtual servers and networking infrastructure related to internal operations and client projects. Your skills in leveraging automation will allow you to effectively co-ordinate integrations between systems to improve access to information and enable the continued scaling of the business. Your customer service skills will allow to you to successfully support internal and client users with IT support related queries and incidents on a day-to-day basis.

Key Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities are:

  • Daily monitoring and administration of computer systems and networks
  • Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, and printers
  • Timely response to local or remote service and support requests across the company
  • User account administration on software platforms
  • Planning and executing new initiatives to extend our capabilities
  • Maintaining data security and availability across our systems
  • Documenting processes and procedures
  • Improving systems and connectivity through automations and integrations
  • Supporting offshore teams and occasionally performing out-of-hours maintenance as needed, with assistance from third-party partners
  • Reporting on key operational metrics and department objectives to Management

Minimum Criteria

The following skills and experience are required for this role:

  • Be an Australian citizen, permanent resident or hold a working visa
  • A relevant qualification from a reputable education organisation (e.g. Bachelor of Computer Science) or relevant experience
  • Experience in administering Microsoft, MacOS and Linux operating systems
  • Experience with Proxmox and VMware products and public cloud (e.g. AWS, Azure)
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft software, including Active Directory, Windows Server
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft 365 products, particularly Intune, Entra, Teams and Exchange Online
  • Problem-solving skills and a positive customer service attitude
  • Experience in communicating with clients and service providers
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Familiarity with any of M-Files, Sharepoint, Veeam, pfSense, Unifi and 3CX

Location

Our Sydney office is located in the North Ryde technology area with convenient access by road and public transport.

We provide workplace flexibility by allowing staff to work from home for part of the week.
