Join us as a Horticulturist at Greater Sydney Parklands, managing and maintaining gardens and horticultural collections across GSP sites.
The role
As a Horticulturist, you’ll play a hands-on role in maintaining and improving the gardens, turf, and landscapes across Centennial Park and other GSP sites. From planting and pruning to pest control and irrigation, you'll help keep these green spaces thriving. You’ll also assist with supervising contractors, maintaining plant records, and ensuring horticultural work meets high standards.
Working as part of a small team, you’ll follow maintenance programs, care for a wide range of plants, and support the development of new garden areas. This role is a great opportunity to use your horticultural skills in a unique and diverse environment while helping to create beautiful spaces for the community to enjoy.

What you will bring to the role
- Experience in park and garden maintenance, with a solid understanding of horticultural practices
- Self-motivated and able to take initiative in managing tasks independently
- Ability to work collaboratively with a small team to achieve goals and deliver high-quality results
- Strong project management skills to efficiently handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
What is an essential requirement:
- Certificate lll in either Horticulture or Parks & Gardens or equivalent qualifications with experience in the maintenance of horticultural displays, pest and disease control, weed management, plant nutrition and irrigation control and in the maintenance and use of all associated plant and equipment.
- Current driver’s licence with the ability to drive manual vehicles and willingness to undertake fieldwork for extended periods of time and have the ability to lift and carry a minimum 15 kilos.
- Ability to work outside of normal working hours and on weekends if required
