Together we shape thriving communities, public spaces, places and economies.
- Permanent full-time (38 hours per week) opportunity
- Based in Centennial Park, with the flexibility to work across other Sydney sites as needed
- Salary relative to experience and ranges from $ 81,390 to $90,001 + super
Lead a team to maintain and enhance iconic green spaces, balancing expert horticulture with public use.
The role
Centennial Park is a dynamic and high-use public space, and as Senior Horticulturist, you’ll lead a team to ensure its landscapes remain beautiful, functional, and well-maintained. From managing horticultural programs and supervising contractors to providing expert advice across the Greater Sydney Parklands estates, you’ll play a hands-on role in shaping these iconic green spaces. You’ll also work closely with event organisers and other stakeholders to balance public use with the ongoing care of the gardens, ensuring high horticultural standards are met.
This role is about leadership as much as horticulture—mentoring staff, prioritising competing demands, and making strategic decisions to get the best outcomes with available resources. You’ll also maintain plant records, oversee repairs after events, and contribute to financial planning, all while working across multiple sites to provide expert guidance on horticultural best practices.
