About the role

Mater at Home is seeking an Operations Manager to join the Mater at Home team on a permanent full-time basis. This is a unique opportunity to develop your clinical and leadership skills.

This role is key in supporting the overall strategic direction of the Mater at Home allied health service. The purpose of the role is to provide leadership in the development, management and governance of the operational systems and processes that underpin high quality, strategic service delivery and excellent consumer experience.

The role will be central to ensuring that the allied health service at Mater at Home achieves its purpose of being a high quality, efficient and responsive team, delivering care at the right time and in the right place to consumers. It will entail implementing organisational standards by working with the Team Leaders of clinical disciplines and collaborating with other service managers.

The role will be required to investigate and understand market influences and changes in health care delivery so that Mater at Home can achieve growth and scale within a competitive environment.

Salary range: $76.78 - $80.12 per hour plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!

What you’ll be doing

  • Actively promote and participate in the implementation of the Mater at Home strategic plan
  • Actively promote and participate in the development of services to meet the changing needs of the Mater at Home key market segments
  • Oversee implementation of key changes to service delivery to align with strategy implementation
  • Support implementation of key changes in organisational function and structure to align with strategy implementation
  • Lead the clinical teams through business-as-usual operations and periods of substantial change
  • Determine, monitor and report on relevant Key Performance Indicators for clinical teams within Mater at Home
  • Lead the Allied Health Team Leaders to provide high quality, evidence based clinical services for Mater at Home clients
  • Assist in the development of the cost centre budgets and manage the allocated budget, ensuring financial decisions are consistent with Mater at Home strategy
  • Assess and monitor the efficacy of clinical interventions
  • Support the Discipline Team Leaders in developing clinical practices, procedures, and protocols within the relevant allied health discipline. Additionally, assist in identifying, developing, and implementing quality and service improvement initiatives that enhance the delivery of private services provided by Mater at Home.
  • Ensure all allied health staff meet and maintain required credentials to complete duties.
  • Deliver strategic decision-making and identify strategic and operational opportunities for improved financial outcomes
  • Identify, report, respond to and rectify workplace health and safety (WHS) concerns from within own reporting structure
  • Identify, design and lead the implementation of quality improvement projects to improve the efficiency, effectiveness and competitiveness of Mater at Home services

About you

  • A tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in an Allied Health discipline (Physiotherapy, Speech Pathology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Nutrition and Dietetics, Psychology)
  • Registration with AHPRA where required
  • Tertiary or certificate level qualification in business management or business administration
  • High level skills with Microsoft office applications including excel, word, power-point, publisher
  • High level skill in data management and analysis
