About the Role:

Our Private Business Tax team in Brisbane is expanding and we’re looking for a Senior Consultant to join our vast community of solvers. The Private Business Tax team brings our purpose to life by specialising in providing comprehensive tax advisory and compliance services to privately-owned businesses, including family enterprises, partnerships, and privately-held companies. Our expertise encompasses a wide range of tax-related areas such as tax planning and strategy, succession planning, mergers and acquisitions, and reorganisation. We work closely with clients to understand their unique needs and objectives, ensuring that they meet all regulatory requirements while optimising their tax positions.


You’ll help solve complex problems by using your skills in:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with a portfolio of private business clients, understanding their unique tax needs and providing tailored advice.

  • Ensure clients meet their tax obligations by preparing and reviewing tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with current regulations.

  • Advise clients on tax-efficient strategies to optimize their tax positions, including succession planning, mergers and acquisitions, and reorganization.

  • Stay updated with the latest tax laws and regulations, conducting in-depth research to provide clients with informed guidance.

  • Mentor and support junior staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment.

  • Identify potential tax risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, protecting clients' interests.

  • Provide updates to clients on tax-related issues, helping them stay informed about changes in tax legislation.

  • Provide tax compliance, tax planning and tax advisory services for large client groups with multiple types of entities including trusts, companies, partnership and individuals;

  • Assist clients with tax related services for acquiring businesses such as tax due diligence, reviewing tax sections of purchase agreements and the process of implementing the acquired entities such as tax consolidation calculations and stub period tax returns;


In our Private Business Tax team, your impact will b e seen by:

  • Driving client growth by delivering exceptional service and identifying opportunities for additional services and solutions.

  • Innovate and streamline tax processes within the team, enhancing efficiency and accuracy.

  • Work closely with other departments (e.g., audit, advisory) to provide holistic solutions to clients.

  • Help expand the firm's market presence by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.

  • Continuously develop your expertise and credentials, contributing to the firm's reputation for excellence.
