RESIDENT MOBILITY ASSISTANTS

  • Located at our Hope Valley & Hendon sites
  • Hope Valley - fixed term until January 2026 on Tuesdays & Fridays (0.4 FTE)
  • Hendon - Permanent part time position on Wednesdays (0.2 FTE)
  • Shifts are 9:00am - 5:00pm

At Eldercare, we know that older people in our care want to remain as healthy and independent as possible. The Resident Mobility Assistant is a new role commencing late September that will work closely with our Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Wellbeing Consultants to support the mobility and activity of our residents.

You will assist residents to participate in exercise and physical activity, and achieve reablement goals. You will spend 1:1 time with residents helping them to access spaces within the facility, including outdoors. You will support residents to participate in events and activities, and engage in important social connection.

To be successful in this role, you will:

• Have existing working rights in Australia

• Possess a Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance, Health & Leisure or Ageing Support or Certificate III in Individual Support (or equivalent)

• A genuine passion to provide care that is person-centered

• The ability to work individually and in a team

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Enjoy building positive relationships with residents and staff

To work for Eldercare, you are required to have a police clearance valid for working in aged care (unsupervised contact with vulnerable people) and the clearance needs to be less than 12 months since date of issue.

As per Eldercare’s Employee Immunisation Policy, all Eldercare employees are required to:

• Be vaccinated against seasonal influenza by no later than 1 June each year

• Be vaccinated against COVID-19 as per current ATAGI guidelines

Exemptions on a temporary or permanent basis can only be approved by Eldercare’s Chief Executive.
