We have an exciting opportunity available for a Manager Field Operations to join our Networks team in Kidman Park SA, on a Permanent Fulltime basis.

Reporting to the SA Operations Manager, you will play a key role in managing the Field Operations Departments in SA, which includes ensuring planned and reactive work programs on the gas network are completed safely, on time, and to budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing leadership & direction to the internal and external team for the successful delivery of key business outcomes – specifically in the Field Operations area involving Gas Networks and Pipelines
• Lead a team of 4 -6 Department Supervisors with a combined responsibility of up to 40 - 50 direct employees as well as a contract workforce
• Delivering programs safely within Safeguard protocols targeting zero harm for APA staff & contractors
• Plan workforce and resource requirements to meet scheduling requirements
• Develop scope of works, tender documentation & undertake tender evaluations ensuring compliance with internal & external stakeholders

Your Background

• Demonstrated experience in Engineering and operational/project management experience in a utility asset management / operating environment (or equivalent)
• Strong background in managing a multi-faceted engineering and/or operational group
• Experienced in being responsibility for budgets, personnel and operational decisions
• Able to make sound operational decisions under pressure and capable of managing others within such environments (including emergency situations)
• Proven ability to lead a team of highly skilled Department Supervisors who manage large teams of employees or a contract workforce

Networks manages and operates local distribution networks and transmission pipelines that deliver gas to around 1.4 million households and businesses across Australia.

This is an exciting time for the Networks team, we are growing and expanding with many new projects, including 2032 Olympics. Also, we have a strong culture of continuous improvement and working towards Net Zero with the introduction of renewable green gas into the Gas Networks.
