We are currently seeking applications for a Finance Officer, to join Financial Accounting, Shared Services SA branch at The Department of Treasury & Finance for a period of up to 12 months.
Remuneration: ASO3 – Salary Range $67,589 – $72,033 p.a. (+11.5% Superannuation)
About the opportunity:
The Finance Officer is accountable to the Manager Financial Accounting and is responsible for undertaking a broad range of financial management services. This includes preparing reconciliations and assisting with the preparation of financial management reports.
The Financial Accounting business unit of Shared Services SA provides statutory reporting, balance sheet account reconciliation, general ledger, payroll interface, fixed asset and right of private practice administration services and associated advice to a wide range of SA Government agencies.
About you
To be successful you will be:
- Ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, in a clear and concise manner, whilst maintaining sound working relationships with all stakeholders.
- Ability to work under limited supervision, to cope with high volumes of work, deal with competing demands, meet strict deadlines and organise activities to provide efficient services.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, contribute to a culture of teamwork and take a shared responsibility for achieving results.
- Ability to work in a customer service environment with a commitment to providing quality customer service and achieving client satisfaction.
- Demonstrated experience in the application of the relevant legislation, policies and procedures, including Code of Ethics, EEO and cultural inclusion.
- Sound knowledge of financial management processes, Treasury and government reporting requirements and accounting standards, particularly as applied in the SA Government environment.
- Ability to use initiative and judgement with a strong commitment to service excellence.
- Ability to undertake financial analysis and present information clearly and concisely.
- Experience in general accounting and reporting functions, preparing reconciliations and contributing to business process improvement.
