About the opportunity:
The Cyber Security Risk Advisor is a senior role within the Cyber Security Advisory team. This role is responsible for contributing to and engaging in the Governance, Risk, and Compliance aspects of cybersecurity across the organisation. As a highly technical Subject Matter Expert, the advisor is deeply involved in all facets of cybersecurity and IT resilience, including infrastructure, platforms, applications, cloud services, policy and governance, and cybersecurity engagement activities. The advisor's responsibilities include delivering governance of resilience and cybersecurity risks and guiding the selection of appropriate strategies to manage these risks throughout the organisation.
The role also entails performing activities necessary for embedding the management of cyber security and IT resilience across SA Power Networks. This is achieved by enhancing processes, standards, and tools that enable and optimise the delivery of new technology and applications. Additionally, the advisor is tasked with improving the effectiveness of cyber security and IT resilience controls on existing systems while maintaining compliance and continuously mitigating risk. By strategically advising and influencing relevant teams, the advisor ensures the quality and effectiveness of cyber security and IT resilience controls in both new and existing solutions.
Key Responsibilities Include

Conduct cyber security risk assessments of new and existing technologies to identify risks, and appropriate controls that balance security and operability.

Communicate and educate the business on cyber risk assessment findings to both technical and non-technical audiences, including Digital & Technology (D&T) and stakeholders across the broader organisation.

Responsible for strategically advising and influencing relevant teams across the organisation to improve the quality and effectiveness of cyber security & IT resilience controls on existing systems and ensure that new solutions are being delivered in a compliant fashion.

Assist the Cyber Security Resilience Advisor to ensure the continual adoption of cyber security strategy, cyber security framework alignment, business continuity, disaster recovery and uplift programs.

Responsible for the delivery of cyber security and IT resilience assessment & reporting obligations for internal and external stakeholders.
About you?
You’re an experienced cybersecurity professional skilled in assessing risks for new and existing technologies, balancing security with operability. You effectively communicate risk findings to both technical and non-technical teams, advising on improvements to enhance cybersecurity and IT resilience. You help ensure new solutions meet compliance standards and assist in implementing cyber strategies, business continuity, and disaster recovery programs. Additionally, you handle cybersecurity assessments, reporting, and audits for internal and external stakeholders.
Other criteria include:

Diploma in IT or Cyber or business or equivalent skills and knowledge gained through experience.

Extensive experience in Cyber Security, IT Governance or an Audit & Risk function.

Security Certifications CISA, CISM certification or equivalent skills and knowledge gained through experience.
