About the role

We are seeking a skilled Life Cycle Cost Analyst to drive cost-effective and efficient solutions that support the long-term success of high-impact defence programs.

Based in Mawson Lakes, South Australia and reporting to the Life Cycle Cost Lead, you will ensure that cost, supportability, and schedule goals are achieved.

In this Pivotal role, you’ll contribute to the development and maintenance of Life Cycle Cost Models (LCCMs).

Key responsibilities :

  • Lifecycle Costing & Analysis: Develop and deliver comprehensive Life Cycle Costing data, including spares analysis, to support key program deliverables such as LORAR, RPL, S&TEL, user manuals, and technical publications.
  • Financial Impact Assessment: Calculate lifecycle costs based on data analysis, evaluating the financial impacts of Material Subcontractor Support Solutions and operational data trends.
  • Asset Lifecycle Models: Develop and maintain asset lifecycle cost models that include reliability, availability, and maintenance support details, supporting engineering and ILS change decisions.
  • Data Management: Maintain the integrity of LCC Data and Assumption Lists, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
  • Comprehensive Reporting: Compile and present detailed LCC reports for internal and external stakeholders, providing critical insight into trends and cost drivers.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all processes comply with relevant legislation, company policies, safety protocols, and quality management standards.
  • Other Responsibilities: Support additional duties as required, contributing to broader team goals.

About you

Skills and Experience:

  • Proficient in R&M modelling and analysis tools, with hands-on experience in ACEIT and Excel for cost estimation and analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience in Defence Logistics Support, Operations Management, or equivalent fields.
  • Solid understanding of LCC, cost simulation methodologies, and systems engineering principles.
  • Familiarity with RAM, ILS, financial, engineering, and programmatic data interpretation.
  • Exposure to Defence technologies and systems such as AMPS, MILIS, and NetMAARS is highly desirable.
  • Ability to assess trends and cost drivers, with an analytical mindset to improve financial outcomes.

Educational Qualifications & Professional Memberships:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Logistics Engineering, Electronics/Electrical Engineering, orrelevant experience inrelated field.
  • Professional memberships within relevant engineering or logistics organisations (desirable).

Personal Qualities:

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and sound decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to plan, prioritise, and manage tasks independently.
  • A collaborative team player, willing to share knowledge and adapt to new tasks, technologies, and procedures.
  • Confidence to liaise effectively with internal teams, senior customers, and subcontractors.

As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an NV1 clearance.
