Why this role matters The Salvation Army Australia’s Homelessness Stream provides high-quality, person-centred services to people at risk, and or experiencing homelessness. We support adults and families, including accompanying children with accommodation, case management, outreach support, financial assistance, connection and referral to other specialist services.About the role We are seeking a values-driven and proactive Admin Assistant, at our Darwin location. Reporting to the House 49 Manager, this is a permanent, part-time position offering 25 hours per week. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Award, level 3. You will successfully
- Provide administrative support for day-to-day operations.
- Perform general office duties and manage resources according to site requirements, following the direction of the line manager.
- Liaise with suppliers and maintenance contractors to ensure timely and accurate procurement of goods and services.
- Ensure bank transactions, invoicing, and Centrelink imports and exports are completed according to set guidelines.
- Maintain administrative and financial systems in accordance with TSA policies and procedures, including car/room/equipment management, petty cash reconciliations, purchase orders, correspondence, and handling post and freight.
- Maintain effective, accountable, confidential, and secure systems for all participants, program staff, and agency-related documentation and information (verbal, written, and electronic).
- Previous experience in an administrative environment is essential, preferably within the community/welfare sector.
- Certificate III in Business or similar and/or extensive, demonstrated previous experience working in a similar role.
- A National Police Record check is required prior to commencement.
- A NT Working with Children Ochre Card check is required prior to commencement.
- A current First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain.
- Be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in Australia.
