About the role:

Due to an internal promotion, we have an opportunity to join our team at Ventia as a Management Accountant with our Transport sector on the Sydney Roads Asset Performance Contract.

This position will oversee the timely and accurate processing of site transactions as per deadlines coordinating month end process and ensure results are finalised on time. You will take proactive steps towards ensuring delivery of budget outcomes by working closely with the Finance Manager and other Business leads.

The position will be based in Western Sydney Arndell Park office with onsite parking available and offer flexible working with time in the office and work from home.

What you'll be doing:
  • Ensure the appropriate allocation of costs each month to the relevant work orders.
  • Weekly payroll and posting of plant entries and inventory for jobs.
  • Resolve GR/IR and aged Purchase orders with contract administrators.
  • Posting recharge journals to other business units and clearing of intercompany transactions.
  • Drive month end calendar and timeframes with Finance/Commerical teams and ensure results are finalised as per deadlines.
  • Review and finalise overhead and maintenance P&Ls against forecast and over / under claims position.
  • P&L reporting that drills down into business performance metrics.
  • Maintain a clean and compliant balance sheet that is accompanied by detailed reconciliations.
  • Drive compliant purchasing practices across the contract.
About you
  • Demonstrated experience within a complex business environment where you are actively engaging with the business to translate the numbers to the physical work completed.
  • Prior exposure to project finance and finance analysis roles would be well suited.
  • Bachelor degree within a relevant discipline Commerce Accounting etc
  • CPA or CA qualifications preferred.
  • Well developed skills with SAP preferred.
  • Advanced user of excel.
