About the Team:
We are a Social Work team based within Student Support Services; a broader, multi-disciplinary team, consisting of other allied health professionals and experienced educators.
About the Role:
Social Work Truancy collaborates closely with schools, preschools, parents, students, and other professionals to deliver time-limited, evidence-based interventions aimed at enhancing engagement, learning, and wellbeing outcomes for children and young people.
This role demands a high level of professionalism, autonomy, and integrity. You will demonstrate a strong commitment to social justice, human rights, cultural safety, and the dignity and respect of all individuals. You are dedicated to advocating for and empowering children, young people, and their families. You work both independently and collaboratively, possess excellent interpersonal skills, and are passionate about helping children and young people achieve their full potential in an educational setting.
This position receives professional support from the Senior Social Worker.
Essential Qualifications:
- An appropriate degree or equivalent which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
Special Conditions:
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.
Additionally, the successful applicant must hold a provisional or full current driver’s licence and demonstrate substantial experience as a Social Worker.

Remuneration:
AHP2: $88,255 - $102,240 per annum (1.0 FTE), plus superannuation (11.5%) and leave loading.
