Currently, we are seeking a Product Manager – Proposition to join our Business Banking team.
Our ideal candidate will possess a wealth of experience in steering the strategic roadmap for developing propositions , encompassing product offerings and Value-Added Services across the customer segments. Success in this role hinges on a solid foundation of business banking product expertise, proficiency in service design, and a track record of collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Business Banking stands as a pivotal element in ING's overarching strategy, positioned as the third segment bridging Private Individuals and Wholesale Banking. Our segment caters to three customer categories: Self-employed & Micro companies, SMEs, and Mid-Corporates. These clients are dedicated to effectively managing and expanding their businesses amidst a dynamic and intricate landscape. Our objective is to provide them with relevant, seamless, reliable, and personalized financial solutions during critical junctures.
As a member of the Business Development Team, you’ll play a vital role in shaping the strategic course and implementation of initiatives for Business Banking. This role involves close collaboration with diverse stakeholders at both local and global levels, offering you a unique opportunity to contribute to our organisation's growth and success.

What you’ll do
- Drive the long-term vision of the Business Banking segment: formalising our strategic narrative and segment priorities. This includes preparing senior management presentations and other key strategic discussions.
- Conduct research to understand the customer needs: source competition and market dynamics to identify emerging trends, opportunities & threats in the business banking landscape, informing strategic direction and positioning our offerings for success.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams: product, marketing and customer intelligence specialists to design the business banking solutions tailored to the specific requirements of our business clients
- Define the business requirements for the products & services (incl. features) that meet the customer needs and provide input and guidance to the delivery teams on the required capabilities to build.
- Design differentiating packages / subscription models that attract customers by determining the optimal mix of products & services, partnerships and price point to create business impact
- Analyse moments of truth and monitor customer feedback together with the (IT) Delivery Tribe to identify opportunities to improve the customer experience and remove frictions – digitalisation of customer journeys, process optimisation and account lifecycle servicing improvements.
- Build the network internally and externally. Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders to foster collaboration, drive business development and enhance our competitive position in the market.
What we’re looking for
- Tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Business or Commerce
- Business Banking Expertise: excellent understanding of business banking, portfolio dynamics, and value proposition development (8+ years in marketing, product management, or digital product development).
- Strategic & Project Management: Experience in setting strategic direction, managing multiple projects, and driving impactful change in complex, multi-geography environments.
- Stakeholder & Communication Skills: Proven ability to influence and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leaders. Excellent presentation, interpersonal and facilitation skills.
- Technical & Analytical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint & Excel) and data-driven decision-making.
- Customer-Centric & Solution-Oriented: Focused on delivering positive customer outcomes, challenging ideas constructively, and implementing practical solutions.
- Deep knowledge of the Business Banking market, customer segments, and service models.
- Experience in strategy consulting and qualitative/quantitative research techniques.
