We are looking for a motivated and skilled Fire Systems Maintenance Technician to support our Defence Contract across our Shoalhaven and Illawarra bases. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting, testing, servicing, and maintaining fire protection systems in compliance with Australian Standards (AS1851) and relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain, repair, and install mechanical fire protection systems .
- Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults in fire protection systems.
- Conduct scheduled servicing and performance testing in accordance with AS1851 .
- Adhere to maintenance schedules and follow all safety procedures .
- Ensure compliance with Australian fire protection standards and work within required safety frameworks.
About You:
- Relevant experience in fire system maintenance, servicing, and repairs.
- FPAS accreditation (Mandatory).
- Trade qualification in fire protection, electrical, or mechanical fields (Desirable).
- Strong knowledge of Australian fire protection standards (AS1851, AS1670, AS2419, etc.).
- Current NSW Driver’s Licence.
- White Card (General Construction Induction Training).
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills with fire safety systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills , with a strong focus on customer service and safety.
- Australian Citizenship (Mandatory); Australian Baseline Clearance (Desirable).
- Current licence or willingness to complete training for confined spaces, working at heights, and EWP.
- Resilience, a ‘can-do’ attitude, and adaptability.
- Commitment to a Zero Harm culture , ensuring safety is always the top priority.
