Mater Foundation are looking for a Philanthropy Communications Coordinator to join the team! This permanent, full-time role will be based at our Newstead campus.

What you’ll be doing
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Trusts & Foundations, this role is responsible for developing donor communications and providing administrative support to the Major Gifts and Trusts & Foundations programs to increase income and secure significant financial support for the Mater Foundation.
- Identify funding opportunities across Mater Queensland through monitoring and maintaining applications through the internal Grants Project Register, and general administration of the software.
- Conduct comprehensive prospect research using public information sources and data base subscriptions.
- Coordinate key meeting agendas and attend key meetings to take notes that inform action items for follow up, circulation and tracking.
- Maintain organisation systems and processes to effectively support a high performing and successful Trusts and Foundations portfolio including the Grants Project Register.
- Contribute to the continuous review and improvement of systems and processes.
- Work with Trusts and Foundations and Major Gifts to contribute to the development of high quality funding applications, donor proposals, impact reports and acquittals.
- Support the grants application process to ensure timely submission of applications and all required materials.
- Proactively source and follow up with key Mater teams (clinical/research and education) to provide timely and relevant information to generate proposals, impact and acquittal reports.
- Work with Foundation team to coordinate and facilitate information sharing meetings with relevant Mater staff, i.e. researchers, clinicians.
- Work across Mater to source project information relevant to funding applications, acquittals and impact reports.
- Liaise with/access information from Mater to support funding opportunities with Trusts and Foundations.
About you
You will have tertiary qualifications in communication, fundraising or related discipline. You will also meet the below criteria:
- Proven experience and ability to use clear, concise language to develop grant applications, funding proposals and impact reports with demonstrated ability to develop content suitable for the purpose and audience.
- Ability to translate technical language and concepts into clear audience-specific communication.
- Highly developed listening and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to liaise and build collaborative relationships with all levels of staff and people in a wide range of Mater contexts.
- Ability to research and evaluate information using a range of tools and industry resources.
- Ability to schedule and use time effectively. Attention to detail, including ability to coordinate multiple competing requests to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated capacity to make informed decisions, show initiative in problem-solving, and prioritise tasks effectively while working independently.
- Ability to present information both verbally and in written form in a clear and compelling way.
- Understanding and experience in contemporary computer programs and fundraising CRM.
- Demonstrated experience within a fundraising, sponsorship or related discipline is desirable
