The Commercial Manager is an exciting opportunity to use your expertise in financial management, project analysis, feasibility studies, professional reporting, and stakeholder management to benefit Queensland. The Industrial Development team within EDQ works with key industry partners, government agencies and the community, to facilitate delivery of industrial development projects which maximise economic, social and environmental outcomes. These projects include large multi-year industrial development projects (ranging in size) which generate ongoing employment opportunities, activate further development or create thriving communities through facilitating economic growth.
As Commercial Manager, You Will Support The Industrial Development Team With Achieving Strategic And Operational Financial Objectives And Support The Broader Team To Achieve Project-specific Financial Aims. Specifically, You Will
- Support the Executive Director with financial advice, analysis, and information, focusing on enhancing the business unit's long-term financial strategy, objectives, and initiatives.
- Coordinate financial activities, the development and monitoring of the annual budget process, and strategic financial inputs to ensure alignment with objectives and strategies advanced by the business unit.
- Contribute to the business unit's financial management by offering timely, effective, and practical commercial and economic analysis, advice, and solutions, including project-specific and consolidated financial forecasting, budgeting, and support.
- Lead the preparation of finance reports to the Economic Development Board and prepare reports to the EDQ Investment Committee and Audit, Risk and Performance Committee.
- Critically assess project feasibilities, business cases, development projects and infrastructure programs.
- Undertake analysis and monitoring of the business unit's asset portfolio, including determining benchmark returns and identifying strategies for efficient long-term investment and risk allocation.
- Provide commercial advice on proposed transaction structures and delivery approach.
- Provide strategic financial and operational advice to support the diverse business objectives of the business unit.
- Provide analytical reports regarding financial management for the business unit's projects.
- Manage and coordinate the provision of effective financial services for the business unit, including budgeting, cash flow management, financial reporting and analysis across projects and programs.
- Prepare material for advice, reports, briefing notes, board papers, submissions and funding proposals.
