About Shepparton Medical CentreThe Shepparton Medical (SMC) centre is a GP Clinic and multidisciplinary practice providing quality health care to the general public in Shepparton and surrounds. It has been facilitating the wellbeing of patients and students through quality patient-centred care and outstanding clinical education and delivers approximately 40,000 services to patients each year. Click here to find out more: https://shepmed.mthc.com.au/About the roleThis is an excellent opportunity to join the team at SMC as a Practice Administrator (Reception) on a maximum-term contract basis, until June 2026. You will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients and supporting the smooth running of the medical practice and Medicare Urgent Care Clinic.

What you'll be doingGreeting and assisting patients in a friendly and professional mannerScheduling and managing appointments to ensure efficient patient flowPerforming administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and record-keepingHandling customer inquiries and providing information about the practice's servicesMaintaining the practice's inventory and ordering supplies as neededCollaborating with the medical team to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care
What we're looking forRelevant qualification and/or work experience in a front desk customer service environment or a healthcare administration environment.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with patients in a warm and empathetic manner.Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively.Proficient in using computer software, such as the MS Office Suite, internet and email (experience with Best Practice software or similar will be highly regarded).A commitment to providing exceptional customer service and maintaining patient confidentiality.
