About the Role
Joining an established team, the Health, Safety & Workforce Manager will take a lead on WHS compliance, workforce planning, and resource allocation across multiple sites. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe working environment, conducting risk assessments, and leading safety initiatives while managing workforce strategies.
This role is ideal for a confident safety-driven leader with experience in stakeholder management, risk management, incident investigations, and workforce planning, who is comfortable dealing with conflict, and can effectively drive safety improvements.
Duties
- Develop and implement workplace health and safety programs to promote a safety-first culture.
- Oversee workforce allocations across multiple construction sites in Sydney, ensuring compliance with WHS regulations and safety best practices.
- Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations to maintain a safe working environment.
- Lead on-site inductions and WHS training programs.
- Ensure compliance with Work Health and Safety regulations, labour laws, and industry standards.
- Perform site inspections and audits to identify hazards, ensure compliance, and implement corrective actions.
- Work closely with site managers, supervisors, and workers to promote and enforce safety policies.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and non-compliance issues, conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
- Lead and mentor the workforce management team, ensuring a strong focus on safety leadership and best practices.
- Work collaboratively with operations, HR, and finance teams to align workforce strategies with safety and business goals.
- Ensure ISO and WHS compliance across all workforce management practices.
Skills & Experience
- Experience in a similar role ideally within labour hire, construction, civil engineering, or related industries
- CertIV in Health and Safety, or equivalent
- Strong understanding of WHS legislation, industry regulations, and risk management principles.
- Experience establishing and maintain good working relationship at all levels
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Visio
- Experience with Procore Construction Management System a plus
