About Us
Myimbarr is a fully accredited Aboriginal Out of Home Care service based in Wollongong. We are dedicated to ensuring every Aboriginal child and young person has a loving and supportive home, whether that be with their parents, extended family, kin, or through other carer arrangements.

What We Do
At Myimbarr, we empower Aboriginal children, young people, and families through culturally situated, trauma-informed casework. Our service is growing, and we are actively welcoming new team members to help us support more children and families in need.
The Role
We are seeking Caseworkers to join our supportive and dedicated team. This role is open to experienced professionals, those new to the field, and Aboriginal applicants who are passionate about making a meaningful impact in the community. If you have an interest in family preservation , this role could be a great fit for you!
What We’re Looking For
- Aboriginality is highly desirable – we strongly encourage Aboriginal candidates to apply. However, applications from all backgrounds are welcomed.
- Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Community Services, or a related field (a Diploma in Community Services with relevant experience will also be considered).
- Experience working in Out of Home Care, Family Preservation, or a similar child protection-focused role is desirable but not essential – we provide extensive training!
- Ability to build positive relationships and provide strong casework support to children, young people, and families.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills (both verbal and written).
- A full driver’s license .
- Valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) & Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
