The Opportunity
Hunter Prosthetics Orthotics Service (HPOS) has an exciting opportunity for a hands-on Technical Assistant to join our team in Newcastle.
In this role, you’ll work under the guidance of Prosthetists, Orthotists, and the Technical Officer to assist in the manufacture, repair, and fitting of prosthetic and orthotic devices. You’ll be involved in fabrication, assembly, and finishing, using a variety of materials. Prior experience or qualifications are not essential but will help in understanding the tasks at hand. You may also provide technical support in patient management, assist with stock control, and contribute to work health and safety initiatives.
Based at John Hunter Hospital, HPOS serves patients across the Hunter and Northern NSW regions. Our team of 11 clinical, 3 technical, and 2 administrative staff is dedicated to enhancing mobility and quality of life. With on-site manufacturing, 3D scanning, and access to local 3D printing, we deliver innovative prosthetic and orthotic solutions. As a registered NDIS provider, we support patients funded through EnableNSW, HNELHD, and private or not-for-profit entities.

Eligibility Requirements
